Ángeles Vargas (Chile, 1980)
Editorial designer and illustrator with over twenty years of experience in bookmaking. She works primarily in picture books as both illustrator and author, creating visual narratives that bridge hand-drawn processes, collage, and digital tools.
Her work is grounded in the relationship between design and illustration, with a strong focus on image, text, and rhythm, and an emphasis on storytelling and visual clarity. Her books have received prestigious international honors, including the White Ravens, the BIB (Bratislava), The BRAW Amazing Bookshelf, and the Cuatrogatos Foundation Award.
Currently based in Angoulême, France, she is part of the Official Chilean Delegation for the Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2026.
